The CPA committees are open to all members:
The Code of Regulations Committee, chaired by the Parliamentarian, prepares and presents amendments to the Code of Regulations of the Association, when necessary, to the members for approval. The committee also assists the Parliamentarian who serves as a liaison between the Nominating Committee and the Board of Trustees.
The Continuing Legal Education Committee is responsible for scheduling the Association's seminars; compiling information regarding other local and national seminars; compiling and disseminating new developments in the legal field; monitoring the specialty sections, recording and reporting CLE credits; and providing other career counseling and information concerning paralegal education.
The Finance Committee, chaired by the Treasurer, reviews and authorizes ordinary expenditures, prepares the budget and an annual report for each fiscal year.
The Membership Committee, chaired by the Second Vice President, is responsible for recruiting members and considering all applications for membership. This committee is also responsible for compiling and sending the membership directory supplied to all members of the Association, sending new member packets, maintaining the membership list with changes of address and status, and sending information regarding the Association to prospective members.
The Newsletter Committee is responsible for the design, layout, content and publishing of the monthly newsletter which is mailed to all the members of the Association.
The Paralegal Referral Committee acts as a referral committee for employers and Association members by coordinating the job bank, the mentor program, the resume review and the mock interviews.
The Professional Development Committee is responsible for reviewing and presenting to the Association matters relative to the professional development of the members of the Association.
The Programs Committee is responsible for the planning and scheduling membership meetings, the Christmas party and other social functions. This committee also aids in the fund raising activities for the Association.
The Public Relations Committee coordinates all publicity relative to the activities of the Association, including the Speaker's Bureau, press releases and student receptions. The Committee acts as a liaison for communications with the legal community and the public at large. In addition, the Public Relations Committee oversees the Cincinnati Paralegal Association's annual collegiate scholarship awards.
The Pro Bono Committee encourages and facilitates pro bono activities among the CPA members.
The Student Affairs Committee coordinates speakers for schools that have paralegal programs and acts as a liaison for student members.
